Those unintended consequences of usability improvements
08 Apr 2015 • rantbox.ioI get out of the car and lock the driver-side door. Then I try to open the door, to confirm that it’s locked. But because I’m physically near the car and in possession of the key, the door automatically opens. With a sigh, I lock it again, walk away from the car, and then ask somebody else to try to open the door.
Seriously? My car beeps plus you can easily hear the locks engage (If you’re close). That’s been true of the past several cars I’ve owned with remotes. Maybe you just need to ask your dealership to turn on the audible notifications? Or maybe the problem is you aren’t using the remote at all?
If so, no idea there. I always lock my car with the remote as I’m walking away. Simple.
