Before fisherman can actually trade their fish, they have to sort it out of huge piles of rubbish, captured in their nets. For every plastic bag they drink out of and throw away afterwards, they wil catch at least five empty plastic bags in their nets. The lagoon in Dutch Kommanda has no beach, it’s banks are covered with waste. When I asked what happens to it, I was told that every few weeks, they open up the lagoon and let all the rubbish be washed away into the ocean. A sad way to resolve the problem and it isn’t much of a solution.

So much sadness out there is the world.
