HTC’s New Ad for the One A9
07 Nov 2015 • 9to5mac.comThematically, the message is that iPhones are for parents and squares, HTC phones are for kids and rebels. That’s a message HTC started telling themselves four years ago. Meanwhile, in the real world, kids think green text message bubbles are gross.
In hindsight Apple’s decision to make the bubbles a different color and mix them seamlessly with normal texting to Apple devices seems prescient. Who would have guessed green vs blue would have turned into this huge deal. Even I cringe a little when I see a green bubbles and I’m always elated to see a friend start sending me blue bubbles for the very first time.
