Couple's Second Child Dies After Faith Healing Failure

Herbert and Catherine Schaible belong to a fundamentalist Christian church that believes in faith healing. They lost their 8-month-old son, Brandon, last week after he suffered from diarrhea and breathing problems for at least a week, and stopped eating. Four years ago, another son died from bacterial pneumonia.

"Nobody argues that these aren't very loving, nurturing parents," she [Jayaraman, the defense attorney] said Tuesday. "Whether their religion had anything to do with the death of their baby, we don't know."

I'm glad we're sticking to the the whole innocent until proven guilty thing here but "loving, nurturing parents"?  That seems to be stretching the truth if I've ever seen it - and is likely exactly the opposite of what she'll be arguing if she takes the case to court.
