He was just watching T.V. at his dads and went out to get junk food. That sounds like my typical night as a 17 year old. And I know that if it was a 17 year old that looked like me, George Zimmerman would not have found anything suspicious. There would be no altercation. There would be no dead white boy. There is no deeply engrained culture of fear against people who look like they’re from England. And how ironic again. The people whose ancestors were kidnapped, sold into slavery, and treated like farm animals for centuries, are the people who are stereotyped as “violent” and “dangerous”. It is sickening.

Make no mistake, we still have a long way to go.
