Measures like taxation, media and educational outreach, standards, safety mechanisms, mandatory training, and more, could do for guns what they did for cigarettes, which used to be seen as a symbol for power and sexuality and are now perceived as signs of weakness and irrationality.

I think it would be truly amazing if in 100 years we could look back and view guns in the same light that we view cigarettes today.
